Under Rated?

Description: There was a lot of discussion about Tiger being under rated this weekend...
Article:

There were a couple of comments this weekend that made me think a bit about the discussion about Tiger being under rated.  First, in the Tiger interview on Saturday, he had indicated the fact that even if you were to win the first three FedEx play-off tournaments that you could still lose the trophy to one of the top 5 players in the standings come the final week.  It was obvious that he felt that was a flaw in the system although he understood what the powers-to-be were trying to accomplish and avoid.  But it made me think about how sales people at all levels look at their new compensation plan each years to determine how to work the system to make the most money.  If there is a greater importance put on certain product lines by putting a higher commission on them then you look at where you want to focus your time and effort and possibly guide your clients.

Now, although the average golfer knows that golf is not that easy since confidence can come and go, I just get the feeling that just like Tiger works a schedule to hopefully be at his prime come the majors, I sense that he thinks the same way when it now comes to the FedEx.  Maybe it's maturity, but I get the sense that he focuses on playing within himself to be good enough to stay in the hunt but not over exert himself when it doesn't really matter.  When he had to have a great round last week to keep things close and/or possibly stay in the point lead he turned it on big time which then led into this week where he blew away the field to get back his edge going into the Players Championship.  Under rated?  I think so.  I don't put anything past Mr. Woods - 71 victories at age 33.  6 victories in a shortened season for him with all top 10's except for the British Open.  Did you just read what I just wrote?  71 victories by the age of 33 and then after coming off knee surgery winning 6 times with all top 10 finishes except for one tournament.  That is beyond remarkable when you consider the talent that exists on the PGA Tour.

It is time to quit hedging.  There is no doubt we are witnessing the greatest golfer of all time.   (With all due respect to Jack, Bobbie, Ben, Sam, Byron...)
