As much as I like Phil Michelson and what he has meant to golf, today's interview left a clear impression that there is definitely a lack of love between Tiger and Phil.  When Michelson was asked whether he liked the format of the FedEx this year he clearly had more to say (even though from what I heard he said quite a enough).  Phil did not show his best side during that interview and although he tried to cover it up as a joke there was no joke that I could see.  I expected him to be a bit more gracious since he clearly did not play as well as Tiger over the 4 tournament spread let alone the entire season.  Phil Michelson outplayed everyone on the 27th of September 2009 and won that tournament but just like the Charles Swab cup on the Seniors Tour, the FedEx requires consistency and "consistency" in 2009 clearly has belonged to Tiger Woods so the best golfer in 2009 prevailed.

Now on the other side, it is amazing with all that Michelson has been through this year with his family that he was able to put together such a marvelous week of golf.  And he needs to be commended for that.  This week was truly a tribute to the greatness of his ability.  But that same respect needs to be given to Tiger Woods who has come back from major knee surgery and completely dominated the PGA.  Congratulations to both!
